We Gotta Do Better
"Be better. Get better. Wake up world."
An opening summons rooted in James 1:27 — ‘pure religion’ looks after orphans and widows in their distress. A call to wake up, do better, and show up for the half a million foster kids waiting on God's people.
Father GOD…This world is a beautiful mess,
We know anything good has gotta be from you,
James said it, “Pure religion is this:
To look after orphans and widows in their distress.
We Gotta Do Better, Be who you made us to Be,
[Chorus]
We Gotta Do Better,
Be Better, Get Better,
Wake up world, these Foster Kids deserve better,
Seems like forever they’ve been broken from the world’s tether,
You showed us it was temporary, gave us a family forever,
[Verse 1]
So take care of all in the world like we'll live forever,
Thoughts of possibility, rejecting the never,
Cutting demonic ties we need to sever,
No trickster short cuts, it’s a pleather Holy endeavour,
You say you didn't know but now you know,
Will you stand for truth or go with the flow?
Will you partake in the world's side show?
Are you with the One or the 99 in a row?
[Pre-Chorus]
Stop cutting spiritual corners, start being thorough,
Believe He drops the past and allow your spirit to grow,
His Holy Spirit comforts those about rupture, ready to blow,
You’re a masterpiece made in his image,
Unique, not some John or Jane doe,
[Chorus]
We gotta do better,
Get better, Be better,
Wake up world cause the waiting feels like forever,
Half A Million Hearts waiting on GOD’s Holy treasure,
Tending to the fatherless, His Love knows no measure,
So be the change for someone, make that your guilty pleasure,
Just Do Better, Yeah, We gotta do better,
[Verse 2]
Can you break bread with an enemy, forgive a foe?
Will you think thoughts of gratitude, not impending Woe?
Have the strength to halt any mighty winds that Blow?
Tame ya tongue and speak his Seeds to Sow,
So Tame your tongue, flow words of peace,
Help all trafficked victims find their release.
Feed the hungry, shelter the lost in the street,
Your love can be the crossroad where grace and mercy meet.
Cause we Gotta do better,
Speak the truth, Never be a deceiver,
Take your starting role or be a reliever,
Turn the skeptic into a believer,
[Pre-Chorus]
Double check alignment with GODs endeavour,
Lord's jackpots waiting, just pull the lever,
Tithing to the fatherless, saving a soul that needs,
A helping hand, saving grace, just planting his seeds,
[Chorus]
Cause we gotta do better,
Jesus expects more from his peeps,
Gotta do better cause what we sow humanity reaps,
Halt our reckless spirit, get em on heavens path,
Make a move to save them from Satan’s impending wrath,
Let’s Do Better,
We Gotta Do Better,
[Bridge]
So cushion someone's fall,
If asked in the name of Jesus, give away it all,
Help the low feel tall,
Remind us of the beauty we once saw,
Preach the gospel like apostle Paul,
Respect the Word, it's God's law,
Have unbridled faith in his promises like his brotha Jude,
Toss all negativity, You’re equipped with Holy attitude,
It's about forgiveness, drop that family feud,
Show em ya Love, From longitude to latitude,
Avoid too much social, the Bible is where to get glued,
No more taking Jesus name, ain't nothing but lewd n crude,
(Boom)
[Chorus-Outro]
We gotta do better,
Be better, get better,
Wake up world let’s be in this together.
Heaven’s Hands reached down, rescued by Our Creator,
He’s the ties that bind we’ll never again sever.
We gotta do better.
Lord, Make us do better, Amen.
Every Kid Deserves a Home
"Half a million kids. Every kid deserves a home."
A naked-honest plea for the lost, the aged-out, the trafficked. ‘Every Kid Deserves a Home’ names the failures of a system and the responsibility of a society to make it right.
Never imagined growing up with no Ma, PA, Bro or Sis,
No stable home, burnt to a crisp, something's amiss,
No help, love or hope, felt like an eternal diss,
Just having a place that’s permanent would feel like bliss,
The Word calls us the Fatherless, GOD blessed, GOD send,
The forgotten, lost one's we're called to defend,
Hidden in plain sight, wake up world, stop playing pretend,
Just Imagine doing holidays without any cousins or best friend,
[Pre-Chorus]
Navigating the darkness of the system and trail of abuse,
Discarding Old ways serving no purpose, have any use,
[Chorus]
Every Kid deserves a home,
Half a million kids in the wilderness left alone,
Where is our humanity? Should send chills through our bones,
Time to make a difference, show love, pure heart,
Might be your final role in this movie so go for it, play your part,
Time to show compassion, ask forgiveness, no more evil heart,
May your actions be the difference maker, give Foster Kids a jump start,
Lord let’s get them a home, never again falling apart,
This time we repent, we heal, we atone,
It’s about time, cause Every Kid deserves a Home,
[Verse 2]
Every 2 minutes another Child’s lost within,
Tripping over hurdles, statistics looking grim,
Cause Every Kid deserves a Home and a Family,
Half A Million kids lost in the system, world’s blind eyes can’t see,
PTSD, Homelessness, so much more to say,
Ageing out, doing without, the usual damage of the day,
Human Trafficking, lives ruined, no one’s looking for you today,
How can we ignore, will we stay blind another day?
Cause these Kids are really just you and I and that’s not okay,
[Pre-Chorus]
Your story rewrites between the begging & the end,
Putting past trauma on the mend,
Mentally flexible, we bend,
Upon his promises we depend,
No more playing pretend,
Kids lives senselessly being Ruined,
[Chorus]
Cause Every Kid deserves a home,
Half a million kids, left on their own,
Feeling invisible, forgotten, all alone.
Never saw the problem, man we should have known,
Rise Up now, this is our wake up call,
Every Kid deserves a home, not some but all,
[Bridge]
Change those laws forever protecting,
Doing away with those predators molesting,
Kids need us now, no time for market testing,
Angels carry the Lord’s blessing,
No longer 2nd guessing,
A stable home for a child, we’re progressing,
Prayer is our answer to manifesting,
Darkness overcome by Holy Spirit light illuminating,
Send out that ripple, see it pay back and tripled,
Families reunify, Jesus heals what once was crippled,
[Final Chorus]
Revealing the system’s darkness and the trail of abuse,
Discarding old ways that no longer serve the people or bear any use,
Pass it on, spread the word, share ya Holy Spirit and joy,
Make a difference, help find a home for an orphaned girl or boy,
Cause Every kid deserves a safe place to experience security,
Man, don't we all deserve to be part of a loving family?
[Outro (Spoken)]
Let's break the chains of the system and set them free,
Amen.
(Boom!)
Peace in the Heart
"Healing starts with Jesus — and the love I receive."
A meditative confession on doubt, betrayal, and the slow learning of how to receive love after the system has bruised the giver. Peace isn't pretended — it's breathed in, slowly, like autumn light.
Why do I still doubt, I want so hard to believe?
Lookin' in their eyes, hard not to feel deceived,
Not wired for the lies, just want some good reprieve,
But this heat I keep takin on’ — way more than I can grieve,
Gave too much of me away, encouragement to a thief,
No magician’s trick, there’s nothing up the sleeve,
System let me down again, time I choose to leave,
I’ve got God's protection — that’s all I need to believe,
[Chorus]
Let peace in the heart be the rhythm I breathe,
Let the weight of the past, fall like autumn leaves,
No more anger, no more war, just a soul that seeks relief,
I’m not chasing false love — I’m learning to receive,
From the Father who stayed, when the world let me go,
Through the fire and the silence, He’s the one I’ve come to know,
In the foster storms of life, He taught me to believe,
That healing starts with Jesus — and the love I receive,
[Verse 2]
Felt like Adam without Eve, lost in make-believe,
Tangled up in trauma, still trying to break free,
But God don’t waste the pain, there’s redemption underneath,
Even when I doubted Him — He never stopped loving me,
Was playin' the background, now I’m called to lead,
Used to hide my heart, now it’s the part I let them read,
Pain made me small, now grace helps me exceed,
He gave me back my song, and a new soul to feed,
[Chorus]
Let peace in the heart be the rhythm I breathe,
Let the weight of the past, fall like autumn leaves,
No more anger, no more war, just a soul that seeks relief,
I’m not chasing false love — I’m learning to receive,
From the Father who stayed, when the world let me go,
Through the fire and the silence, He’s the one I’ve come to know,
In the foster storms of life, He taught me to believe,
That healing starts with Jesus — and the love I receive,
[Bridge]
Let me love like I’ve been loved,
Not from fear, but from above,
No more gocart soul, I was made to ride in love,
I’m not the invisible man, I was made to stand and shine,
Fostered by the Holy Spirit — healing in His time,
[Final Chorus + Tag]
Let peace in the heart be the rhythm I breathe,
Let the past be a story, not a chain on me,
I’m not who I was — I’m free to believe,
This ain’t just survival — it’s the love I receive!
It’s the love I receive...
From God, through it all
Let peace in Ya heart — it’s the love I receive!
Love One Another
"This is how we love one another."
A house-by-house, scar-by-scar tour of what love actually does. Built around John 13:34 and the lived realities of foster placement, this anthem refuses sanitized affection — love here is muscle and mercy.
Daddy was locked up behind cold steel,
Mama couldn’t heal, numb to what’s real.
Another placement, another goodbye,
Another foster home where I learned to cry.
They gave me rules, but not affection,
Taught survival, not connection.
But deep down I still believed,
There’s more to life than being grieved.
[Pre-Chorus]
But You, oh God, You saw me there,
Knitted in the womb with tender care.
You breathed in me that sacred breath,
The same Spirit that conquered death.
[Chorus]
This is how you Love One Another,
When they fall, be the arms that recover.
This is how to break the chain,
Let go of the guilt, let go of the pain.
Anchor to the Lord, leave the past,
Make room for grace that’s built to last.
Even the outcast — make ‘em feel like a brotha,
Yeah, this is how we Love One Another.
[Verse 2]
I've seen trauma dress up as strength,
Kids pushed past their breaking length.
Anger’s just pain wearing a mask,
Begging for love, too afraid to ask.
But healing don’t come through shame,
It’s through mercy and Jesus’ name.
So if you're tired, if you're sore,
Just know you were made for more.
[Pre-Chorus]
We don’t need perfection, just a start,
God turns ash into art,
Every scar that you’ve been given,
Can testify that you’ve been risen.
[Chorus]
This is how you Love One Another,
Hold the wounds of your sister and brother,
This is how the battle’s won,
Not with fists, but with the Son,
Anchor to the Cross, make it last,
Break the silence, speak love fast.
Even the outcast — He died for no other,
Yeah, this is how we Love One Another.
[Bridge]
When the world writes you off,
God writes your name in bold.
When love feels foreign,
His grace still takes hold.
From system scars to holy ground,
We’re proof that love still sticks around.
[Final Chorus]
This is how we Love One Another,
Wash the feet of your sister and brother.
This is how redemption sounds,
From the courthouse to the lost and found.
Anchor to His word, move fast,
Let the Spirit out, make it vast.
Don’t just say it — go and show it, my brother,
This is how we Love One Another.
[Outro]
Even the outcast...
Even the fostered…
Even the broken…
You're my sister. You're my brother.
This is how we Love One Another.
GOD is GOOD
"Even in the fire — God is good."
A trumpet-blast of testimony. Sound the alarm; lift the song; remember who picked you up from the courthouse steps and the foster bed. God is good — in the storm and out of it.
You know that GOD is good
Even when you're walkin’ through the fire, through the flood,
He’s the lifeline in the storm, the shelter in life’s mud,
Lift your voice, shout to the heavens and to ya hood,
Yeah, Cuz you know that God is good
[Verse 1]
Sound the trumpets, shout to the sky,
He picked you up, heard every cry,
You Used Him like a wishin’ well—
But still He came when your world fell.
Breathed the wind, stirred the seas,
Chained the devil, set souls free,
No soul for sale, just grace to dwell,
One word from Him breaks every spell.
[Pre-Chorus]
He don’t bring fate, He brings a future,
He don’t just mend, He makes you newer,
Liberty bell cracked, He makes it whole,
With Love that echoes in your soul.
[Chorus]
You know that God is good,
Wonderin’ if you should believe, you should,
From the courthouse steps to a foster bed,
He's the voice that whispers hope instead,
Raise your hands, drop that feeling of dread,
You know that God is good
[Verse 2]
Ezekiel saw it, prophets told,
He’s the same through new and old.
Sight for blind, strength for the weak,
Truth revealed when the humble speak.
On your knees, you’ll start to see,
He’s been there through your history.
Open up your heart, and you will find,
He’s the healer of the broken mind.
[Bridge]
“Is it nature or the Spirit movin’ through the trees?
Is it chance or God’s breath in every breeze?”
Give all glory to the King He’s why we rise,
From trauma, from silence, from the enemy’s lies.
[Breakdown]
He raised us up, breathed us life,
Taught us grace, walked through strife,
He heals the hearts we thought were dead,
And rewrites stories the world misread.
[Final Chorus]
God is good, He’s the spark in the dark,
He’s the home for the homeless, the light in the heart,
Every child in care, every tear you’ve cried,
He’s the Father who never left your side,
So sing it loud, let it be understood,
You know… that God is good
[Outro]
For every kid who thought they were forgotten,
You were never alone,
You were never unloved.
God Is Good!
